Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

please help i recently purchased a mpc 4000 coming from a mpc 1000. i understand the 4000 but i dont understand y my timing is off, with to the time correct window tc:1/16 swing 50% shift timing set to earlier shift amount 0


the 400o obviously has more functions then the mpc 1000 but my claps sound off.

most of my songs are 96.0 tempo and also i tried 1/32 and 1/64 but didnt help much please help

It might seem oblivious but check your sample start trimming in the sample page. If you just loaded your samples in from the 1000 kits it may make a difference in the sample start.

Plus secondly the 4k defaults at startup with a 5ms set on the amp envelope attack in the program edit 1 page. Still might cause your claps attack to be shaved off given a seeming delay in the timing. Go to programs>edit 1>Attack under Amp Env and set to zero. Go to Program Matrix and also change velocity from Tilt velocity to nothing as source you don`t need it unless you are layering programs you want to crossfade between. Make sure you don`t have velocity>sample start or velocity>attack Amp Env with any settings also. That is all I can think of at the moment so I hope it helps.
