self made producers?

i been noticing that most hot producers 2day didnt come out of no where, they jus had the right hook up...scott storch was down with dre, swizz beats uncle owns ruff ryders,kanye west was down with no i.d., lil jon was down with jermaine dupri n so so def, even pharrel from the neptunes was doin stuff with teddy riley back in the early 90's....so whens the last time a producer came out of nowhere and made it big? i cant think of one thats major and that kinda worries me that its more bout WHO U KNO than how good your shit is...cuz u could have the tightest beats in the world...but that dont matter IF THE RIGHT PEOPLE DONT HEAR THEM.

actually all of little brother were big memebers at www.okayplayer.com in the forums. That is how quest even heard of em. They pushed them and got them were they are. Networking is key to this game. if you dont have connects your fu**ed. simple as that.

That statement is kind of iffy, but you cannot forget the ghost producers this is what I thought of when I read that.

It's always a benefit to know someone in a position that is of benefit. The cats you mentioned didn't just get a "hook up"; they had to grind. Kanye didn't have a clue when he met No ID. He had to pay his dues. He was teachable. Swizz was making some hot beats which got his Uncle to pay attention to him. A producer once told me "opportunity is going to present itself; that is a given. The question is will you be ready when it does"? These cats were.
