how do u copyright ur beats with bmi do u sign up .....

can we get a BAN please...It's obvious this guy is just here to stir sht up and not add anything of significance...

he's doing major records for major artists, but doesn't know how to get with BMI, so he comes to a forum of "bedroom" producers to ask when he's already in "the loop"...

By law(but not the best way to prove in court) the moment you create something it's automatically copyrighted. The only flaw, there's no real way to prove it. So copyright your ish! If you have a body of beats, copyright the entire body of beats, it'll be cheaper and still hold weight. Joining ASCAP, BMI, or SESCAP is for the purpose of recieve royalties whenever someone, or some place plays your music. Clubs, restuarants etc.. all have to have ASCAP, BMI, or SESCAP rights to play the music to a public audience.

yo i got a question for you people who signed up with bmi or ascap. im tryin to SiGn up with either ascap or bmi. wHen it says the requiremtns are you need the song to be on a commercial or soon to be sale/album or PrefomEd on the net. Would having your song on your own site work.Alos thought I'd drop this here since my other thread aint got shit.When you sell a beats exclusive rights after you registered it with bmi or ascap do you still get royaltys from it. I was curious because you transfer copyright ownership when doing exclusive rights, do some of you only sell non-exclusive. Plz fill me in..Thanks
