Anyone buying cd's anymore?

I prefer vinyl at home. There is something about the break involved in turning the record over that I really like. It's also nice how it seems like a natural stopping point if I only have 20 minutes to listen to music.
I used to listen to CDs exclusively, but at this point, I generally only buy comps, CD-only releases, and stuff that's expensive on vinyl.
I only have a tape player in my car, so I pick cheap cassettes up for driving--usually stuff I might not listen to otherwise.
I will download out-of-print records if I can't find the vinyl for a reasonable price, but MP3s are my least favorite format. I find listening to music on the computer less relaxing/enjoyable for some reason. It's cool for myspace, soundclick, etc. though.

I still buy cd's. Always have, always will. If I'm looking for something to sample i usually gather old cassettes and records. But if i want something like to put on my ipod...i buy every cd that i want. Theres something about owning the actual physical copy of the cd.

something wrong with needing a player + software + no artwork + usually mp3 - A Compromise + sitting in front of a screen & speakers getting very bored indeed

i actually went out & bought a discman after many years, very refreshing hearing it & reading it as i walk out the shop on my travels / not having to wait 'til i get home archive & sync it

+ if it's some record fayre you can repair old discs

+ the inlay shout outs for collaborators of similar work

downloads are great if you wanna economise but where's the fun in that?


very rarely buy vinyl but getting some classic but used / deleted title can make me go weak at the knees
