Beatmaking event..

I work at an art gallery and most of the time the space is not in use. I asked my boss if I could use the space and he told me I could throw events in there whenever I needed. I was thinking about throwing an event and inviting local hardware producers. I figure I'd come on here and ask what you guys think might be some good ideas for the event with regards to making beats.
I don't want it to be a come and show off beats type thing exclusively, though that would obviously be part of it. Any thoughts?
