Even a manager shouldn't charge up front.

Bottom line, the only way someone is going to get you on to something is if they want to, can make money from finding avenues for you to profit, etc.

Do you really think that even for $400, someone is going to take the time to take music they don't believe will sell, if they have even heard it, and push it to other people. I can't imagine having a worse job, even if the money is there.

Is that company by any chance called FASTBREAK, LOL, shit's fake man, move on. There are SO many little wanna be companies that do that same thing, and they just want your money, send u to a fake mock ass stage to perform in front of what they say is MUSIC EXECS but they aren't. They jsut want your money. U better off to just keep it moving.

Do these placement companies totally accept the use of samples/does it matter to them?
By nyke Tue Sep 29, 2009 5:30 pm
I've always been told to stay away from the samples unless i can hide them. Most of them would rather not mess with sample based material.

That makes sense as I'm sure at the time of picking something up they don't know how large of a project it'll be on...I'm sure it's not worth the hassle of dealing with copyrights even for SMALL projects so it makes sense that they steer away from compositions with noticeable samples in them...Chop small people! :D
