I also produced HHH...and yo HHH is gonna be the next big thing..the way hiphop is falling off..i expect HHH to get bigger and better.

Just found this thread which has already had some pretty powerful stuff in it. Here go my two pennies: As far as music genres are concerned one of the forefathers of Hip Hop is Gospel music. Before Jazz, before the Blues, there was Gospel which includes old negro spirituals, chants and hollers, call and response. A lot of the early hip hop (pre Run-dmc era) was influenced either directly or indirectly from one of America's first original music genres, Gospel music.

Example: check out Busy Bee in the movie Wild Style. Half of his show is call and response.

Of course we can go back even more to Carribean and African influences, but for the sake of these two pennies I'm just speaking about American musical roots in Hip Hop.

Hip Hop has many branches, but they all were rooted in What! the church. Yeah I know sounds crazy. I'm talking about the MC side of hip hop not necessarily the beats.

Whether Christian, Crunk, Hyphy, Gangster, or Reggaeton its all hip hop that comes from the same roots. If its wack its wack and for the most part that has to do with one's opinion. Just recognize what your listening to is rooted in Gospel music.

yes i really do , im trying my best to find christian hip hop artist to produce for , im really trying to get away from the secular scene, too much negativity and violence , i just want to be around more positve people in this world , no drugs , no violence , no cussing, just god's will and a godly way, for 2007 thats my plans for the music scene

im not a big fan. hiphop is raw and gritty, and i like it that way

Hip hop can be different. There are so many different people doing different things w/ hip hop. If you don't like Christian rap cool, but I know some cats that have just as nice if not better skills than most people doing secular music & their beats are just as good. Maybe you haven't heard the right people, b/c I will admit there are some Christian artists that don't sound good to me either.

its not about that, its about the concept of Christian Hiphop. i mean its almost like a paradox because ur putting limits on the music. i mean im christian and all, and my moms picked up this joint from the church of a dude rapping. Just wasnt appealing, the rapper sucked maybe that had alot to do with it lol but still.

The music has alot to do with it. Just like secular music, but there are a lot of cats that are hot.

Check him out. He has some other cats on his page that are really good too. Not just him but there are ALOT of cats making hot music for Christ. They just don't get airtime like some other artists do. At least not yet....

But as far as putting limits on the music I don't really understand that b/c Christian hip hop talks about every part of life just like secular music. It just looks at it from another perspective.

I thought you might like him. A lot of people are really liking his music right now. He's really a good dude & he is doing it to give GOD glory not trying to pump his self up.
But there are lot of others out there too. Hit me up if you want any suggestions. After a while though you will probably find some people I haven't heard of that are just as hot too. If not better.

Christian Rap is actually the next big thing man...not to get fame or nothing but Christian rappers actaully have a meaning to there raps..check this guy out Unknown Prophecy...he got talent and a very good poet..and speaks the word of God DONT SLEEP
