WTF this one dude used 5 of my beats without a permit ?!

what the ****... i had this one wack ass **** asking for buying my beats like a year ago, i told him there´s alot of those beats already in use...

now i had him add me in myspace and i started to listen to the tracks he had up in his myspace and he hadnt even given me a **** credit for making those beats...


what the **** ?

for real, any idea what i should do about it ?

^will do that for now on... my only fear is that will anyone listen to the beats if i put voice tags over them ? how often should i put the voice tags ?

yeah man, shit, at the end of the day im making this music firstly for me and second to the people that would maybe want to hear what i have to offer if you know what i mean... going to record some voice-tags which i can then spread ove the beats i upload to myspace... **** annoying

seems to be so... things like this (some dudes stealing my beats) make me wonder that what really is the point in making beats if someone else is going to steal them and use them

thats true, but i feel like there would be no point in doing beats so that i could keep em stashing to my own vaults, i made beats for years and there was like 1 dude who heard them, that was then but nowdays i feel theres no point in that, maybe just because ive been uploading beats to myspace since i registered...

i know i will voice tag my beats for now on, i will look what i could come up with as far as the voice & noise manupulation goes

There's the old saying: any publicity is good publicity, even if he's not crediting you.

If you want to get your name out there this is the price you're going to have to pay to some extent. Let's say someone blows up and they stole your work, it would be easy to prove it's yours in the public eye. Word would spread like fire with one YouTube video and a few forum links.

I mean, if someone stole something from me all I gotta do is post up the multitracked file from Logic, Garageband, whatever --- an MPC program, or just an audio file of me deconstructing the entire track to minute details only the person with masters could.

Once that guy is outed, and it's discovered his 'genius' is actually yours -- then it's only good publicity.

If some douche on a MySpace page uses your work -- well, chances are nobody's listening but his friends and like three other people anyway.

not necessarily saying the dudes artist name (dont necessarily want to give him no free buzz around him cause it might turn to positive buzz) ?!

Treat it as a positive for now because if they start getting lots of plays and picked up then your chances are increasing all the time to make some money.

Keep making beats but upload shorter lo fi versions to try and protect yourself.
