Start by giving away free beats.. get on some albums, build a profile and then charge. if nobody has ever rapped on your shit then your shit out of luck. i'm on 2 albums and i still do shit for free.... both of the albums recieved promotion and i was mentioned in an online review of one of the albums for having hot production... you have to build a name for yourself before you can build a clientelle

start dj-ing...from there you already get paid..
beatmaking do just for free but remember you still own your royalties..that can give you the dollar amount you want..
hope this helps..

I only got paid one time by an mc for a beat.
For theater and other media stuff a received a financial rewarding a few times.
U can also sell to others instead of only mc's if u want to sell.

When people ask me to do a few productions I never ask how much I get paid. If u do ur work well they'll reward u anyway.

yeah i agree with smokey ... make a name for your self first ... I recently just landed a few really good beats on K-Kendle's new album "Think Out Side The Block" witch has had a few really good reviews online .. now people have been asking me how much do i charge for beats, songs, mixing .. etc..
keep working hard and build your rep !
