Would I be breaking copyright if...

So I was tryin to find out if its still illegal to use peoples stuff if youre not getting payed for it and I found the answer was yes if if you are using a significant portion of it. Was wondering how much it takes to be a significant portion and be illegal? Like can I use 4 bars or 8 and chop it up and use that if its not being played out in the order the copyrights in? The main reason I am wondering is cause I had a crazy idea that most will probably thing is stupid but.....

I am making a really sick beat out of one of the James Bond theme songs and I was gonna leave it at that but I thought of the idea of making a film, just for like youtube and stuff like that not to sell it or anything, and have the song end up being the theme song for the beginning of the movie. I wanna make my own James Bond movie... and ya know how theres always the song in the beginning, do it like that. And then just have all the music of the movie be music I made. Just didnt know if theyd come sue me for it or not.

I know its a crazy idea that some people probably wont like but I am just looking for some answers cause Ive been known to always do me regardless of what others think and its gone good for me so far.

you can only be sued if your selling OR distributing, but your only displaying with no intent on monetary gain, so do what u want. It would be more expensive to sue you than ask you not to do it again.

youtube will remove the audio track but that will be it. my friend made a video with a beach boys song on the intro, they removed it. shit had about a hundred views.... youtube WILL find and KILL your family....
