thinking about starting a music store.

whats up peps check this Im contemplating starting a music store and my first reserch site is YOU, the mpc famliy.I beleave I have the purfect location, but i need info on wholesale sales of vinly and cd companys to buy from. Yo any info you can come up with Im sure would help, even if its not related to this post.

You got money? To live, pay bills, eat, and pay employees, rent, utilities? Running a business is a 24-7 job, make it attractive, most small record stores get screwed due to Best Buy, Circuit City, Downloading.....so must be appealing.....what ideas do you have?

I have a investor in my fam, employes yep, location perfect bestbuy,circuit city would never build here. I cant stop the net, but from my personal experience even I prefer some original labled music. I have ideas for online services +vedio sales & music equipment sales.

Figure out what entity works best for you and what you intend on doing. Example: LLC, S-Corporation, C-Corporation, LLP, LLP then you will know where to start, this is the most important. Then I would go to a local music store, like Wherehouse and ask them where their music comes from, the distributors. ALSO, those books music stores use to order you a CD that is not in or on the shelf is probably the company you need to be familiar with, must larger outlets don't use these books. But almost every mom and pop does. Hope this helps.
