the best way is to go thru an attorney. i think it cost me about $700-800 after everything. its alot cheaper than that but lawyer fees are a ****. i got incorporated but llc is pretty much the same shit. anyway find yourself a good lawyer and they will be able to get the ball rollin for you.

thats the way we went too... about the same... depends on your city, we also are getting our name trademarked....but you can also save a lot too doing it yourself, but ya lawyer makes sure you are doing everything the correct way

It's not necessary to go to an attorney to establish your business entity. It's very easy to do. You should be able to download the forms right from your local government website. I did here in Michigan and I'm pretty sure you can download them in your state. They're standard legal documents. I used two forms (1) the articles of organization for an LLC and (2) there was a form that I filled out with my credit card information that allows you to transact via fax machine. It was form 901 or something like that. These were the only forms that I needed. I called the state at the number at the bottom of the form to make sure that they received the form. They had and I was told to call the IRS so I could get my employee ID number. In about a week or so, I had the hard copies from the state and the IRS. It costs me $50.00. I took the forms and opened a business account, in the name of my LLC, at my local bank and was good. Incidently, it's probably a better idea to open a LLC as opposed to an INC. There are certain advantages to opening an LLC that you don't have as an INC. Corporations are subject to double taxation LLCs are not. It may be to your advantage to open an LLC. You can find all of the pros and cons of the different business entities online. I hope this helps.

this is your first time doing it right....if so, go into it the right way... see, thats why u say talk to someone thats going to tell u abou the whole over all thing, not give u a paragraph on here and knowing its alot more too it.... u also gotta get ya Tax ID # from the state capital and etc....

when u dealing wit ya money, u wanna know exactly, what its doing, and where its going, not just running here in there doing stuff... as a business owner, there are a lot of other benefits involved... with you being a first time business owner, take ya time out, and go learn from someone who is going to sit down and explain stuff, now just give ya a quick internet lesson... im not trying to dog what the previous peeps have said, but thats just my opinion if u are serious about investing and learning the business side of what you are trying to get into... this aint just going to buy and MPC, and then learning it, this is money, and that once you start including the Government in, they wanna know whats going on, and also what money is being made and are they getting theirs, also u get tax write offs and all that other stuff, see, this is deep, go talk to someone, u cant learn this stuff just from this forum, u gotta research if u wanna do it online, and look at accredited sites.... goodluck

Just to reiterate, you can definitely establish your business entity online at your local government's website. It doesn't get anymore accredited than that. You can also do research there as well. Check out the Small Business Association's site as well. I believe it's www.sba.gov. There is plenty of information there to help you along. Also, find a good accountant. A CPA would probably be best. F.Y.I. The government expects taxes from your earnings. They will only expect to be paid when you earn.

thats all cool.... but you and him are two totally different people right... everyone is not as good as maybe me and you, and others that can research and know how it works, thats why i would rather advise him to get a lawyer, or someone in his city, who owns a business or knows what they are talking about to go thru with him and work that out... your advice is not bad by no means...just like u did, the second time, u made it more open for him to get some knowledge from on a certain garunteed site

Going into business in some regard is like going into a marriage. Neither of which do you want to go into with unnecessary debt. A lawyer would be expensive and not necessary to establish his business. Why pay a lawyer to draft a standard legal document(s) that you can get for free at the government's website? I would definitely recommend an entertainment lawyer for contract negotiations and such but not for the initial establishing of the business entity. As a business owner, it behooves that person to learn their business/craft. There are plenty of resources that are available at no cost or very little. SCORE comes to mind. This Business of Music is a great resource and written by lawyers that specialize in entertainment and copyright/music law.

thats not my point guy... his initial question "pimpdawg156 im about to get my own production company where can i get the LLC. Stands for Limited Liability Corporation. and after i get that wats the rest of the process help plese. please include prices. thanks appreciate it if you can help, "....that alone tells me, this guy needs help... your first initial answer was very openly answered with plenty of loose ends... i never said, go see a lawyer, i said talk to someone, not go see a lawyer, yeah, we did the lawyer way cause we have very credible Entertainment Lawyer... my advice was for him to seek and try to do it himself along wish someone, whos already doing it or even just has a business....

so therefore if someone comes and ask u a question as simple as too where to get a license from, then they need help, some credible information, not some information that he heard from some dude or dudes he doesnt even know online, who might not know what the h..ll he is talking about(not saying you arent)....im just ssaying in general, u meet plenty of peeps that dont tell u everything, which is an example in past remarks on this question.... so thats why i dont advise him to do it by himself, because his first question wasnt of someone who was just type in on google or ask.com, "aquiring a business license" or etc(not disprespecting the guy, but just using that as an example)....
