been to a confrence back in like 04. met a bunch of industry cats like primo, teddy riley, no id, a lot more the emcee jin even had a stack of beats from everyone who had a demo on them. made a few contacts. NY and Miami crowds seemed to be the deepest, especailly during the showcase and battles. overall it was a good event and a good place to network and gain some insight on the industry.
they're forum seems like it sucks and you are better off only joining for the confrence and if you have a fire demo or are ready to showcase or to battle.
must be dynamic and participate to make it worth your while.
on one hand you can get most of the knowledge from books and articles.
on the other hand, they provide a network and an audience and give theyre ears to everyone participating.
REAL TALK demos should be blazin within 16-20 seconds sometimes less(NO LONG INTROS unless it is the dopest thing ever, if they dont like the beat by then they will skip the track due to the fact everyone makes beats nowadays).
not for everyone, but if you have no other way into the game they have a whole network of contacts set up already. remember its not always what you know but sometimes who you know.
