A&R and Music Evec. summits/conferences?

Anyone been to any a&r power summits or anything, im thinking about going to one this year. If you know about any summits that are comming up list them here. And if youve been to one, tell us how it was, or if it helped you or didnt help you. Aaight 1!

I'm goin to the Dynamic Producers conference in Aug. I'm actually in a showcase (Top 20 Producers with instrumentals) We play 3 tracks infront the A&R's and then have a brake out session with'em to play a few more tracks

Coo... How much does that cost to attend? How many years have you been going there? Thanks for your reply.

This is my first time going. It cost me a little less, $155 (discount for being selected for the showcase) I think its like $300 or $350.

I wish I could find out about more events like this. I would go to all of them.

yea i kno me too, i heard there going to be like a southeast urban music conference in atlanta on like the 27th-30th of this month in atlanta, I wanted to go but thats way too soon for me.

coo, i wonder how much it costs to attend that billboard thing, thats just the time of the year that i was looking for. Does anyone know where I can register to attend it?

i've never heard of one person even so much as selling one beat from going to these things, much less getting any kind of deal. its just a money making thing for whoever puts them together, hence why they charge you to come.

I mean that may be true but at least you get the honor to be in the presence of some of your influences. I read about one conference when like pete rock is there, made me want to go personally.

It beats sending your demos throught the mail to these people, at least you know that their actually receiving them when u go to these conferences.

Im thinking about going to a local beat battle in july, have any of u ever been to one, or participated? Are they worth the time? Lol.

I don't even think like I gotta sell a beat to someone there. I just wanna build relationships wit some people and maybe have an ear to send my music to (a la Kanye sending tracks to Hip hop @ roc-a-fella).

What else can one do other than hustle an start there own lable?

It WAS the Dynamic Producers conference. I didnt go last year. I am going this year.
