its a f*ckin shame man. I never thought I would see common do this. But i guess it happens to the best of em. i hate hip hop nowadays its such garbage, commercial s*it at least. PEACE

It has commercial appeal definitely but for you to "imply" that this isn't real hip hop is off base IMO.

In the early 80's hip hop had a synth sound. If you listen to "Plant Rock" or some of the music on the movie "BEAT STREET" you'll know that Common was referencing to that era of music.

But I'm not denying that Com isn't looking for commercial appeal.

Oh no!...Common didn't rhyme on a 8 bar loop beat with samples and a basic boom bap drum patten, Hip-Hop MUST be over!

But seriously, ya'll let the littlest things bother you....Like dude above me said, you can tell that he was referencing the 80's synth era....I mean, listen to his flow, its obvious....Personally, I thought the beat was nice!!!!

Can't be as bad as seeing his face in the new Lincoln commercial endorsing cars.

The Neptunes have fell off so bad... They went from being in my Top 10 producers to not mention at all. LoL

that beat sounds really lazily made. i was really disappointed after hearing that.

well, considering that i idolize ryan leslie, i would have high expectations from them.

there are alot of unknown producers that could've made that track ALOT better and way more interesting. the only reason i will play the track in the club is for common.

after listening and learning from ryan, i've come to expect more from top level producers. not just a beat thats looped all the way through. i expect it to be more complex. something thats not "mono-chromatic". lol.

yeah, i'm more into "musical" production with no offense to primo, he is a beast and i respect all production. i enjoy the more musical stuff though.

and by the way, if the primo riders start getting at me, its all good.
