If you do an interpolation of a part of a song, do you need to acquire rights before distribution? just wondering because Wu Tang got away with interpolating that Beatles song because they weren't allowed to sample it. And the whole 2001 album by Dr. Dre is filled with interpolations and you don't see any credits for them in his album booklet.

if you replay the original artist's concept. and it is a clear representation of that original work. then you need consent to use it.
