Is there an option for "Hold"

I read that on the Sp's there is a button Hold is there such a thing on the 2500 that can hold the sample with out having the button always pressed

but theres no option for that in the MPC that I know of..I've never needed to do that tho..

With JJos1 on the mpc 1000 u can use the play button to play the sample without holding any button. Don't know for the 2500, I'm still on the free version.
Or assign it to a program as a one shot sample when the sample is in ur ram memory
