Right stereo out dying?

I'm tracking into Logic express as usual out of the main stereo outs, and noticed that the right channel isn't getting as much signal as the left. I'm now getting static on the right channel on my headphones whenever I turn the volume knob...is my right output gonna die on me? Anyone experience this before?

my left output died and i'm still yet to fix it.

Thanks for the info...I bought it back in 06 so it's way past warranty...anyone know how I would go about fixing it?

check them clowns at VST to see if they carry the output board or parts.

the stereo outputs sit on the PC CPU BLK which is about £300 - £350.

the alternative is to remove the stereo out and replace it with one of your 8 outs as it's the same part.

i'm yet to do this as i'm not that great with a soldering iron.

no, no , no....before you do ANY of that buy some DE-OXIT (ebay $20) and spray some on your 1/4" connections. That should do it.Throughout the years the contacts can oxidize and that is why it is cutting out.

Ok...I have a similar problem, and can only provide a half-ass solution. It might not be the physical 1/4" output jack. I think the problem of one channel cutting out happens internally before the signal gets to the out jack. My solution: load a few pads up with the loudest, most hard hitting, sustained kickdrums/ drops, push full mode, then play those few pads at the same time over and over again until the crappy side works again. this should give you a few hours of normal operation if we have the same issue. when it goes out again...repeat. I call this the "beating into submission method" works for me until I can afford to fix it properly. hope this helps
