MPC 2500 automatically stretches sample after assigning!!

I have an mpc 2500 running the Akai os 1.24. When using digital record, after I sample the sound and playback, it is the source tempo and speed as I want. As soon as I assign the sample to a pad and play back, the sample has been stretched to a slower tempo. How do I turn this off. I want to keep the original source tempo while using digital record as I do when using Direct record (pad playback in Direct record does not alter my sample but I want the precise capture the digital record screen gives me). Digital record screen is more precise due to the mpc waiting for the signal. Please let me know how to stop the mpc from changing my sample after assigning to pad when using digital recording.
