recording

1) I have a sample in stereo. I should use this sample in stereo or only one channel (left or right) ?

2) In my akai I have 3 tracks (hats , kicks, snares). I want to record them in my DAW ? How to record them ? (in stereo / in mono) ?

3) In my akai, track with hats panned to the left . I want record this track in my DAW. How to record this track? (with no pan in akai, but after recording pan them in DAW / record with pan in akai only )

That’s a little better

1.The choice is yours. I normally leave my stereo samples stereo. If the sample has parts that are panned hard left or right you may lose them.

2.For the DAW record the drum tracks as mono. Unless the snare or hat is a stereo sample with differences in Left/Right of course.

3.For the pan I would record it the same way. You can make it center and change it in the DAW if you want but recording it the way it is will guarantee that it sounds the same.
