Novation 37-key sync with mpc 2500

I sequence on my mpc 2500. I want to use my macbook pro as a sound module. I have zebra vst on it.. Im not getting any sound from my remote 37 thats sync to my mpc 2500
i have it midi out from 37sl to midi in on mpc2500.
whats wrong? i want to trigger my sounds from computer and sequence on my mpc

go to midi sync (mode + pad 9)

go to the MIDI page (f1)

turn "soft through" ON

done!

by doing this i will be able to use my computer/zebra vst software as a sound module and sequence zebra vst thats on my computer on my mpc? i will be able to sequence everythng on my mpc2500?

its worth keeping the remote 37 or get a hardware synth?
