me: " yeah, im a member of MPC-Forums.com, the worlds largest internet based community and resource for Akai MPC samplers, and alot of them people there have been going nuts over the new MPC 2500 SE, so we were wondering when there would be a US release date for the new MPC 2500 SE?"
lady in Sales: " sure, can you hold please?...........can you hold please?"
me: "sure"

lady in sales: "no, currently it is only available in the UK"
me: "and japan"
lady in sales: " it has a white casing..."
me: " and carbon fiber sides, blue lcd screen and exm 128 plus the CD/DVD drive."
::silence::
me: " so, is there an estimated time when it will be available in the US?"
lady in sales: " No, not at the time, as a matter of fact, we might not release it in the US at all"
me: " well thats very dissapointing, there is alot of potential American customers, seeing as how the original 2500 and first issue 2500 SE were so sucessful"
lady in sales: " mmm hmmm"
me: " can I get your name for citation purposes?"
lady in sales:"no, what for?"
me: "so I can site whom I spoke to, prove that I spoke to someone at akai."
lady in sales: "just tell them you spoke to someone in sales"

Wow....this is hilarious. And yes...the MPC 2500SE is in stock here in Japan...for almost $1900

I got one, but it don't come with the 80gb hard drive.
I remember when everyone these sides were complaining at Akai for only releasing the 2500le in the states.
It's funny the 2500se is a pound cheaper than the standard one here

yeah WTF is goin on W/akai... did you see what they released at Messe this year? Its the most BS plastic POS definitely NOT aimed at musicians. 25 key board with a **** Ipod dock in it, the demo video was a dude clicking a **** I phone screen and pretending like he's mixing faders up and down... so so so so disappointing, so so so so lame.. I laughed out loud...

corporate people runnin the show, all those BS "business majors" up in the company "doin their job" unfortunately no one is a musician apparently so they're running the **** company into the ground and losing all credibility with anyone serious about this ish.
