i don't think chop shop was removed... i'm a little confused to what you're saying here...

ChopShop has not been removed, but many people have complained about the latest OS and wanted to go back to the one before. It's not the first time I post it up:

the reason why chopshop is so slow in os 1.24 is because it can now open and save (!) chopshop 2.0 files!!!
this means the mpc2500 can now not only open programs made on the mpc5000, but it can chop in stereo, too!

this ability is the only additional feature on os 1.24, but there are more than ten bugfixes in this release.

@mpc-tutor: please make a stickie in the mpc2500 section to remind new users that there are os updates from akai and that there have been release notes and manual addendums published by akai which clearly tell what has been added, changed or fixed.

Thanks again for the link, I could not find it through search. Yeah some bug fixes but for how I need to use the mpc the 1.23 is better for me. The search feature is not all that great on here. I've been an mpc user for 15 years now and this shit was just buggin' me so thanks man! Peace

Aint been on in a hot minute. I was looking for an upgrade because 1.24 seems to have problem. I guess I'll go back to 1.23 also. I still had it. Check the link below.

Nice to see support for Akai OS. But 1.24 has introduced a serious problem with midi sync out. It is impossible to have sequencers slaved to the MPC2500 with this OS whereas earlier versions worked. The output midi clock doesn't start at the same time as the MCP starts - its random every time. One more update before the MPC2500 disappears forever would be great.

Actually you CAN get external sequencers in sync with midi clock from Akai OS 1.24. Set the MPC metronome count in to REC+PLAY. You have to put up with tick tick tick tick, and then the MPC and external gear play in sync. Annoying to have to wait through the count in, but it is possible to have both play in time.
