send it back, messing around with electicals (especially when it involves skilled work like soldering) could prove even more permanently damaging to the machine.
get a refund, get a new one.
Hey thanks for the response. The guy is cool about it and is paying for the return shipping, then said he will try to fix it. I'm not sure what he intends to do, but if he can fix it, he will then pay for the shipment back and it should be good. If he can't fix it, then he will refund it. I got it for $650, so I want to make sure that I give it a shot. Plus it came with a hardware adapter and RAM, unless that comes standard in 2.5K's...
