Memory Card sizes, brands, etc...

Hi there,

I'm currently looking at a bigger memory card for my MPC2500SE and was curious to know whether compact flash cards are all the same or is there a certain type of compact flash card dedicated to the MPC? I've been looking at a few sites selling cards but I'm not sure which to buy if there is a difference?

Also, what would be the biggest memory size you could recommend for me? I'm looking for the most memory possible to have on my MPC.

Any comments and/or suggestions will be much appreciated....

only buy CF cards up to 2GB. i bought one 8GB one before and once i had used over 2 gigs it deleted all the memory on the card! sandisk is a reliable make of CF cards, or sandisk 'pro', haven't had any trouble with these ones but i'm sure that as long as it is below 2GB it should be fine whatever make.

really? i brought a 4gb one and have no problems, but perhaps i have been lucky.. will have 2 check this out..

it's just that in the manual it says 'up to 2gb' so i figured when my memory got deleted after i exceed 2gb it was due to that reason.

i could be wrong but i was using a li'l common sense

let me know if you find out anything, would be interesting to know.

Cheers for the advice guys, much appreciated. Just ordered myself a 2gb SanDisk Ultra II CF card. Hopefully it will do the trick...

I am about to buy a new card and 2 gb cards have almost the same price as 4 gb ones and 8 gb are only a bit more expensive.
Would be nice to know what happens when more than 2 gb data are on the card.

the 4GB CF card works fine for me - i have nearly filled the card up and had no problems whatsoever with it
