I am told this is impossible, but maybe somebody has an idea how I can pull this off. My goal is to have 12-24 songs of drums and synth basslines activated by footswitches. I was told by mpc that using direct recording to input synth basslines is not possible. I know that songs on the mpc require multiple sequences. They tell me the mpc wouldn't have the capacity to load 12-24 3-4 minute songs with directly recorded basslines to play continuously in a live situation. If none of this makes sense, is there any way, mpc or not, to fire my bass player and drummer and use footswitches for a two-hour live set?

mpc can only allocated 128mb of audio...sounds like ableton live and controller like apc would do the job no problem

i agree... the best way to accomplish what you're after would probably be with ableton live and some kind of MIDI footswitch controller which you assign to the tracks you want...
