the pad sample is just an 8 bar loop that he re triggers by pushing the pad on the start of the 9th bar, since the pad is set to mono it will cut itself off every time he pushes it

Where can i set it to mono?

Press (mode) the (program) and you can adjust your parameters in that screen.
