Both.

His live performances right now are more techno/trance/dubstep based drumming over the samples because of the electronic festivals he's been doing. I'd consider them remixes really.

However he can compose like a beast (ie: Get it in Ohio, video of him in the studio with Dub) and make sample based beats that are a far cry from his spazzy style that he breaks out into sometimes during his live performances. I don't understand why he receives so much hate. Dude has some nice flips. My only criticism would be him using the same "Zombeez" drum kit all the time.
