LEFT OUT dead. Any suggestions?

HI all.

It is really weird. I had given my MPC to someone who I already brutally killed obviously. And after him using my sampler the LEFT OUT got totally mute. I mean not only the Stereo OUT Left channel died but also the Left channel from the Headphones out as well. There is apparently something wrong inside.

Can I get any help with the issue? That would be great. Thank you.

It might be annoying to have to set it up every time but do the 8 outputs still work? I would just use that otherwise

1-8 outputs work fine but it doesn't do any good since all the internal effects can't be used with them. And I am not amazed by a perspective of eternal resampling.

I have gone into my MPC several times to switch the buttons since a couple of them stopped working at some point so I am not new to opening my sampler and doing some soldering. And I am also aware of mpcstuff.com.

However there is stil a question. What exactly should I change in my mpc to make the Left Out active again? Maybe if I open it once more I wll be able to find the problem and solve it. I just need an advice on where to look for.

Since you all are gravely concerned about me and my situation I am utterly glad to inform you that the Digital OUT works fine.

lol, I would return that mpc back to him and tell him to bring it back in the condition he got it in.

I've got similar problem ... I must use the right out for monitoring (I'm using headphones) because the headphones output doesn't work ... I remember when I flew on holiday and I took MPC with me. The strange think was when I switch on MPC when I was already on holiday. The everything was working properly ... I mean monitors OUT's ... When I came back the problem back aswell ... So mate if you (or your friend) figure out what's the reason of that silly problem, please just tell me !!!!

I had the same problem. It turned out to be the volume pot (which I believe controls the headphone and main output)

I am getting it fixed right now, however if you are familiar with a soldering iron, I'm sure its something you could do yourself.

Anyways, this may or may not be the culprit, but identifying the problem is half the battle when dealing with electronics.
