Q-Link Sliders, Note Repeat & Erase NOT working.

Hey guys... having a few issues with the ol' 2500 LE. Just noticed that both Q1 and Q2 sliders, the Erase button, and Note Repeat are all not working. Not to mention that at first, the CF card reader wasn't working either, but after restarting the machine while holding down 'Window", it was suddenly able to read the CF card again.

I have several MPCs, so haven't used the 2500 for a couple of months... but I'm pretty sure last time I used it, everything was functioning as it should. I was running the free JJOS, so figured maybe the OS was causing the machine to act buggy... I downloaded the latest official OS from Akai's website and re-installed it, wiped and reformatted the hard drive, and restarted the MPC. But still.. NO DICE!. I haven't opened up the machine yet... but will try to make time for that tomorrow. I think it's worth pointing out that all the non-working buttons/sliders are in close proximity to one other, so likely all victims of the same culprit.

So what do you guys think... Is this just another classic case of tactile switch failure? Or is there something else going on here...

if note repeat work then you all good to me sounds like connector may be loose, did you check ?

Sounds like a connector to me too. You're basically talking about all the controls on one side of the MP. Whatever connector connects those controls to the rest of the machine, i would start there.

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah, that makes sense, and is kind of what I was thinking (hoping). I did go inside the machine a few days ago, but the connectors for those particular controls were blocked by the CD drive, so I couldn't see much. I didn't have all day to be messing around with it though, so I put it back together for the time being. I'll check it out again tomorrow and post an update if I figure anything out.
