Just Picked Up A Bargain MPC 2500

I have just bought a boxed mint condition MPC 2500 for £426 delivered. Extremely happy as I have been looking for a decent MPC for around £400. I have a few questions about the unit.

Firstly are the pads in a stock 2500 as good as the 2000xl and if not are there any others I could upgrade too?

I will be using the MPC for live work alongside my turntables and was wondering if anyone knows of any good live videos on the 2500? I have seen Jel (Anticon) on the 2000xl but not much on the 2500.

Finally did AKAI make a case for the 2500 on release?

The 2500 and the 2000XL pads feel the same in my opinion. They do have upgraded thick pads that you can get. As far as the case, they did make a limited edition that has a white case.

Check out MPCStuff.com they will have both the upgraded pads and limited casing. They also have different colors you can wrap your MPC with.

i think he meant a carrying case... you can find info on that by doing a quick search on this forum... people have posted links to cases that are the proper size for the 2500 in the past... i don't think akai made an official carrying case and if they did it would most likely be a soft case which won't protect the mpc much to begin with... i'd look for a nice flight case in the proper size if you really need to carry the mpc2500 around with you.
