I own two 2500s and one of them has a rattle in it when I hit the pads, particularly in the upper-left section (pad 13.) Is this a common problem or do I just need to crack it open and tighten everything down?

The bottom row of pads (1-4) doesn't cause a rattle but the top ones do.

I'd definitely take a look inside and see what's goin' on...should be an easy fix.

i got the solution. its just the rubber pads that making noises when they dont sit right.

just put your finger on the pad with a little pressure and then pull them to the bottom side of the pad, i.e. with pad 13, finger on, pull down to pad 9, understand?

sorry for the english, im not the best at it ;)

but now my pads didnt make noise since i "fixed" it

Might be that the top case is a bit loose and vibrates when you hit a pad.

If you push down on the metal casing near the pads that rattle and can make it stop just by pushing down then it's definitely this. Open the case and put some foam tape to the pad mat around the rattling area. Now the casing should sit tightly and solve the rattling problem.
