one last thing...

Please see if you can adjust the midi beat clock offset so it compensates for the majority of drifts, there will still be the odd ones due to the nature of MPC listening to the not so accurate clock send through the MAC.

Keen to find out if you can also notice those fall offs when looping. This would be a big reason not to buy one..

THX again, this is really helpful, bottom line so far is that its at worst 72 samples out, this is not all so bad for the MPC2500 and JJOS - may be different with AKAIOS

It would be interesting to measure jitter and clock stability on the 2500.

small update on this. Dude has scientifically measure the 2500 with JJOS and timing is flawed when slaved via Beat Clock, looks like the 4000 is the way to go if you are looking to slave your MP to your DAW. You will find tests of 60, 3000, 2500, 4000 and 5000 on that website and the 4k is FLAWLESS. Nukai seem not to understand how critical sync is.

Thanks for the link, the guys from Innerclock Systems really did a good job at testing all variations.
Interestingly enough there's quite a difference when running JJ OS in pattern or song mode with Internal Sync:

Pattern Mode/Cycle - Internal Sync:
Maximum variation = 70 Samples [1.46ms]

Song Mode - Internal Sync:
Maximum variation = 36 Samples [0.75ms]

So when tracking out from now on I'll be sure to use song mode instead of pattern mode to improve the timing. You always learn something new!
