Hello all!

Noob here and Im trying to figure out how (if possible) to separate notes out from a ONE TRACK recording.

Example:
I hit record and play a sample and a bunch of drums all at once.

So what I am trying to do is take that ONE TRACK with all the sounds and the sample and split it up into individual tracks for each sound and the sample itself.

Is there a way to achieve something like this on the MPC itself (not using a DAW)

I was looking to try and copy paste then delete each instrument from the ONE TRACK to their own separate tracks but I did not succeed in either the STEP or GRID EDIT screens.

PLEASE HELP!

If what I described above is not possible what would be the best thing to do?
I find it easier for me to play multiple sounds at once then separate them out on FL, and I was hoping to be able to do this on the machine itself.

THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!!

welcome to the forums!

it is possible to mark all the notes of a single pad in grid edit and then copy that to a new track. (see manual page 40!) use the shift key and the data wheel...

for me it is faster to just copy the track several times and then erase the pads that i do not want by hiting the erase key and the pad i want to erase from the track.

peace, jo

yeah, this is honestly one of my favorite updates jj ever did. not only what dude is wanting to do, but, also just highlighting a pad and moving to any track with the quicknesss. anyone remember what os that feature was introduced?
