Mpc 2500

I have the mpc 2500 and for some reason when I want to record a track it sometimes doesn't want to record on the fifth tick (1:00:00). It just mutes the pad for that one split second then everything works fine. Even if i try to re-record the track ill have the same problem. Also, is there a way to quantize and add swing to each individual track? Every time that I try to do it it quantizes the whole sequence to whatever I set one of the tracks to.

What is the fifth tick you mean. 1:00:00 is first tick. You mean you have a one bar loop and want to record on the 5 beat which is the first since it is a one bar loop.
So use two bars.
also delete your mute info for that track, do it in mute screen for ease.

That means the sample rate is not at the right bpm. Your timing is off. Put the sample at 16 levels and try to set the appropriate bpm such as 90.0 bpm, 93.5 bpm, etc.. and then finally you can adjust the quantize by clicking the F1 key and select the proper swing. You can also adjust the swing percentage.

Thanks for the help guys. When I go to Timing Correct it'll ask me the note value and I can also set the swing. For example: If i set the note value to my hat in Track 1 to 1/16 and the swing to 60% everything will work fine.. but then when i lay my kick and snare in tracks 2 and 3 it'll set the same settings to those tracks as well. Is there a way to set different timing correct settings to each track?

Simply turn it off. When you select any TC you can select it again to make it turn off. Or set it to a non swing setting of 100% 50 swing.
It only works when you hit the pads, or use the TC function when stopped. Other wise it will not affect what is already recorded.

hey guys im having a problem with my mp. yesterday i was using it all day and everything was working fine. then i turned it back on at night and it read "MPC2500 OS UPDATE" then under that "OS FILE NOT FOUND!!" I don't know why it did that and its never done that before. i didnt try to update anything and ive never updated it since i bought it off the dude that i got it from. when it was working fine it always said it was OS 5.18 if thats any help.

MPC1000 has more versions, one free one like 2500. You do not say which one though.. so i guess that it is free one. You will need to put the OS on the CF card and try that but really the Os is stored in the FLASH ROM and that could mean that that is fried, but hope not, that is worse case scenario. So also do a factory reset and also try Akai OS to from akai pro to. Do not be afraid to update the JJOS as it is usually a bug fix or two that would be beneficial to you.
