Formatting system error!

I just got a new 160gb hard drive because my previous one stopped working and im getting an error message when i try to format it, what should i do?

p.s. im starting to get the belief its not the hard disks that are the problem anymore, maybe its the tray, or something on the inside but im most likely wrong.

since im moving a packed my mpc away for around 2 days now and before i made this thread. but im pretty sure it just says "System Error!" and nothing else when i try to format it from the mpc
