One of my beats won't play once loaded. All the samples seem to be in the folder, however in program some samples have ? Next to their names. Is this common? Any ideas on where I should start to get back my beat (it's the one I'm hoping to get on the games OST here)?

Still running original OS! Will all my old beats load if I upgrade to new OS?

The question mark tells you the sample is missing (not loaded) I would check in LOAD mode to see if your samples were saved when you saved your song. They might have been saved, but just didnt go the pad you assigned them too.

That could happen when you..

1. Rename a sample AFTER you have previously saved it.
The PROGRAM is still looking for the original filename of the sample.

2. And/Or sample exists in another folder, mpc cannot read across folders.

3. And/Or sample wasn't loaded in the first place.

4. And/Or (back to 1) another sample with same filename exits in RAM and was automagically rename with a ~1 in back.

I sometimes had that with some older beats I re-opened after a while. It's some kind of a bug I think. Everytime that happened to me the samples were loaded in RAM, but the program couldn't detect them. Just reassign the samples to the pads, save it and done.

The samples are missing from its folder. It was definitely saved as I've loaded and played it many times without problems.
I think something might have happened when I defraged the memory card on my pc.

A soleless shoe is not buggy, it ceases to be a shoe :WTF:

Thanks for the assistance :worthy:

File management and data corruption when using the Akai O.S. were 2 of the major problems JJ fixed with his free and paid versions.
