Can a tact switch be pulled out?

I've got the case open. Removed the button, but the tact seemed to be firm. Do I have to unscrew the board? Can tact switches be pulled right out or do I have to break them?

Edit: it's soldered in any suggestions? I'm trying to swap tacts.

You have to desolder first. When I had to replace like 10 of them 1st time and I had no soldering stuff.. so I opened tacts with razorblade knife (cutting 4 plastic pins that hold a cover) and replaced just the tiny plate for a new one. Lil bit of a superglue on the cover needed

Desoldering is tricker than soldering.

You should practice how to solder and desolder first, or you'll damage your beloved MPC, permanently.
Use old broken electronics for practicing soldering and desoldering.
New electrnics usually surface mounted (PCB has no mouning holes), so it is not suited for practicing soldering.

Yes, if having to ask, it sounds like you don't already know how to desolder/solder parts.

Be very careful, and follow JVCs advice to practice on something else first, you don't want to be making a mess of it and burning/lifting pads/tracks with too much heat for too long.

If you have a small set of cutters, and can get them in close to the side of the tact, it can help to cut the legs first, so that you can desolder and remove each leg of the tact separately.

Find a PACE, Weller or Aoyue desoldering station for around 100-150$. Good investment for MPC people... And you can do your friends' MPCs or other gear too.
