Question on exporting a bounce

Considering getting a 2500 or MPC Ren. Been on the 2kXL forever. Had a local seller explaining some features of the 2500 to me and I wasn't 100% sure he knew what he was talking about. Basically he was saying that instead of tracking out through 1/4" 8 outs like you normally would have to do on the older units, the 2500 is able to just bounce out the tracks as .wav files. Is this true? This would be a huge selling point for me if I can just track out on the MPC and dump the files onto my SD card or even a CD. I have a mac, not sure if the USB connection allows for file transfers or if it's supported. Basically just want to know if anyone can clear up the bouncing feature for me. Thank you in advance.

Yes this TAKE feature is part of the JJOS that replaces the Akai OS and is in 3 and XL from memory, you will have to look at the comparison chart for the feature and you can try it for free to.

OK so in 2500 or 1000 the TAKE function is on song mode. In MPC jargon you have the tracks layered in sequences, that you put together into a song. you can mute tracks or record all in the take, it just record what it plays to the out.

The problem is if the song is too long it wont fit in the RAM available, especially if you have lots of samples taking up ram. This take also includes the inputs into the MPC as well so midi out to synth and back into the song your recording to.

The TAKE is good as it is exactly the song so 1 bar to 16 say, depends on RAM at that bpm and saved to RAM so you save that to CF card, then drag it off CF card by just mounting the card through USB like a drive.
