Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

i have been having a issue with my Mpc2500 and Logic 9.
When i try to set up the Mpc as 16 track module i get ghost notes been sent to my computer when i select the track.
This is driving me nuts
I have a Supernova
Mo Phatt
MV8000
and the MPC2500 all being slaved to logic but its only when i try to set up the MPC i have these problems

sorry, but what you are trying to do is not possible, because while a mpc 2500 can control multiple midi instruments on multiple midi channels from its sequencer, it is not a multitimbral module itself.
the mpc can recieve midi on the one active midi channel at a time only.

what you can do to control different sounds on the mpc from logic, is to use seperate midi tracks on the same channel for each instrument (e.g. kick, snare, hihats, etc.) so you can mute each instrument on its own in logic.
in that case you make the seperation between the instruments not by midi track channel but by note number only. it is not the same, but this way you can accieve nearly what you want and could control different instruments, but you are restricted in using just one track and one program on the mpc.
edit: you can use more than one program to switch to more sounds if you also use program change messages, but still only one program at a time.
