Timing correct configuration

Hi there,

I mainly produce deep house, tribal house music, and sometimes breakbeat and hip hop.

I usually set my TC at 16(3) and 50% swing with EARLIER, but I'd like to give it a change because I'm not satisfied with the groove.

If you produce a similar type of music, what do you use as a TC configuration to have it play with a nice swing ? What are your recommandations for TC when it comes to produce these styles of music ?

I think if you sequence sounds of different origin (not from well tuned soundmodule) you will get some kind of a groove even on very rigid TC. Volume, lenght, tune, trimming on individual samples - those are factors of your groove. Maybe try play with regular 16th and when you would like to play something beyond that rate, just play it unquantised (TC off).
Otherwords, try to make something mixable with released tracks, take your favorite song, record 2 or 4 or 8 bars of it into mpc. trim it, loop it properly in sequencer. now, having that going on add some of your sounds and see where they will land.

Of course you can play in double time, half time, quarter time - I mean tempo here and ppqn resolution that will also have impact on TC, but for now stay in regular tempo.
