"Loading program..." reboot loop

Hi everyone, this is my problem:

I was happily using the free JJOS until I decided to try out OSXL. After trying it out, I went back to the free version only to find out that I couldn't use it anymore.

I powered up my MPC, it shows the 128MB installed screen, then the JJOS 3.11 screen and then boots and shows "Loading program...". After that it reboots and does this again endlessly.

What I have tried:

• Holding the erase button while powering the unit on

• Booting with and without a CF card inserted

• Using the window button+power on recovery mode to install the original Akai OS. Then I created an autoload folder on the CF card and created a file named Program01.PGM inside - it would boot successfully then. Doing the same with JJOS doesn't work.

From what I understand, the MPC is trying to load a program but it's not able to find it and goes on an infinite reboot loop. Bearing in mind that I can't get into the actual OS, what can I do?

Also, both CF cards I own (2GB and 8GB) now show the Wrong Card message in the window+power on mode. I've reformatted them to FAT16 and FAT32 with no luck so I can't go back even to the Akai OS. Any help would be appreciated.

Little update:

I've managed to get back into Akai OS and disable autoload. I noticed if I go into Load mode and change Memory Card by turning the data wheel, the MPC crashes and reboots. Could this mean there is something wrong with the internal memory? It would explain why JJOS doesn't boot - it's trying to load something from the internal memory but can't access it.

Anyone have any info about the internal memory and on which PCB board it's located?

E: mpcstuff told me it's on the main board which has been discontinued... looks like I'm screwed then or stuck with the Akai OS at best
E2: I noticed that if the RAM expansions is installed, the MPC will go into a reboot cycle with JJOS. If I remove it, it will just hang. The same goes for when I try to select Internal memory in the Load mode of the Akai OS

Sorry for spamming but I'm just really frustrated about this.

One of the changes of OSXL (which I installed at one point) is - Cannot do the save/load to an internal memory

Is it possible that when I installed OSXL it did something to the internal memory (wiped it) and now all the other OSs are trying to load from it but it doesn't exist?

as i understand jj is using that internal memory to store parts of the osxl memory, because it is too big for the memory that stores the normal os.

maybe it is better to ask this very specific question in the jj os subforum, as the people there might be more able to help.

the jj does use some functions of the mpc that only he knows about, so reverting the machine back to factory settings might be a bit difficult after installing the osxl.

the erase button boot up method only sets the factory os back to its default settings, but i doubt that it can set the internal memory back to its default state after the os xl used it for a totally different purpose. that might be the reason why it is not there anymore.

Thanks, that makes sense. Looks like that is the problem, the internal memory is now occupied by XL and for some reason it was not emptied when I went back to the free JJOS.
