I would hope no one is 'dying' to get an MPC 2500. Its obvious that you don't want one. Why would you even be here in this part of the forum unless you have an alterior motive (like me when I visit the MV forum ). Nothing is going to stop your creative flow with the gear that you are using. But if you do own and MPC 1000, 2000, 2000XL...don't hate, just go ahead an upgrade when the 2500 hits the streets. You can still get good money for your older MPC and income tax time is right around the corner Yes, I got the Japan price..and using Pay Pal, I got a little more discount so I do feel where you are coming from. But even if I didn't get it overseas..I would have still copped the 2500 for $2000. Yeah, I would have had to pay for the HD and CD drive, which isn't necessary. The memory costs about $50 so no big deal.

So what is it? You have a motive to convince people to hate an MPC that hasn't been released? Do you want people to buy an MV (which is a great alternative)? Or do you want people to get what you are using? I am still curious, by the way, what you are using. Just for converation purposes. You can even communicate via PM if you like.

The English manual was just made available (links were even posted in this site) not so long ago. I had the MPC 2500 since the last week of Sept. There was no English Manual.

Ok. I see where you are coming from now. Your feelings were hurt and you are taking them out on me. I know you are an MPC 2500 user (share where you bought it off of so we all can get good deals ) and you have the MPC 1000 in a bag. You also make alot of money making tracks. I applaud your efforts. The MPC1000 is in a bag because I bought it for portable use like live performance. It's way too limited for my studio use.

As far as misunderstadings..I didn't take anything personal. I find this site useful and very funny. Its all in fun even when I respond to personal attacks. Its all luv.

Yeah, I'll upgrade the OS but the MPC 1000 stays in the bag. It's for sessions outside the studio. I tend to edit more back in the studio and the MPC 1000 is too limited for what I do.

BTW I deleted the Flash ROM instructions. When I was writing that second part of my post the phone rang. At same time I realized the instructions were not detailed enough for most people. They have to be listed in several steps instead of just two like I wrote originally. There are about 6 - 10 steps. How to erase Flash ROM is going to be the most frequently asked question about the MPC 2500. AKAI should have made this a simple one-step erase function. Maybe I'll get back to writing the steps next week or if you feel like it then list them here for everyone.

I don't find this website that funny. I created the name "Hurricane Producer" with the idea that when the New Orleans hurricane was over then I would leave here forever. Then I extended that until the end of hurricane season. Once that's over I'll be gone with the wind.

5. It was an excellent deal. But save your money and wait a few months. AKAI always releases MPCs with QC problems in the beginning. The early MPC1000 owners can tell you how they got burned. Let AKAI get the bugs out of their first production run, then buy the machine.

Hurricane Producer, from your posts..I have read that you make a living producing and investments. I guess this explains why you own the MPC 1000, MPC 25000, MPC 4000, and the Roland MV-8000. And a Moog Voyager among other things.

I have read where you bashed Akai about the bugs in their gear only to read in another thread that you told others to buy the same gear that you trashed. I have read where you stated that bugs are apart of all Akai gear when they are released..but you run around looking to buy the MPC 2500 when it hasn't even hit the USA yet. You even stated that you would get the new MPC 4500/5000 (whatever it may be) as soon as its released. In fact, you said that you will buy a black MPC 4000 if one is released.

I read where you were looking to find the right CF card...when you could have just bought one and tested it out and if it didn't work well...just buy another. You have the funds to buy 4 highend sampling workstations, you can surely spend $25 on a CF card

I have also read where you state that the MPC 4000 and the MV-8000 is a great combination.
