Akai US just officially released the first batch of 2500's across the country last night. I know this not only because my source told me it was going to happen, but I actually seen it for myself today in Sam Ash, NY.
i'm not sure when the release date for the UK or other parts of the world.

The price is $1999 bare. (no cdr and no hard drive)

one other note: between the next few weeks and the next couple of months, a new OS is going to come out for the 2500

Sparq, which Sam Ash did you stop by... Forest hills, Brooklyn or Manhattan? I live closer to Huntington (I hate the Huntington store). I gotta give them a call and see if they got 'em in and try it out for the hell of it.

Word! They got their sh!t together in Manhattan. The Huntington and Carle Place locations aren't what they used to be.

That's great news. But they will not be available everywhere. I went to Guitar Center in Oklahoma last night to purchased my Fantom X and asked when they will receive their MPC 2500 shipment. I was told next month sometime. You know I had to slip in that I had mine already

like i said, the first batch went out last night. they probably hit the major chains in the major cities first.

Yeah...I wouldn't call Oklahoma a major city

But if it does have some known bugs...why would the company release them in the US without an OS update. You know how people are around these parts
