I use the 2000xl and am thinking of upgrading to the 2500. The reason for this is tracking. I dont have the 8 outs or a multi-track(on the 2000xl), so I was wondering if I could compose my beat on the 2500. Then export each seperate track as a solo track to my computer. This would be great for those of use that cant afford a multi-tracking interface for our DAW. The reason I ask is because I know you can burn a full song on the 4000, but how about seperate tracks? Thanks

Thanksthe usb function on the 2500 and the 1000 are not for tracking. the 2.5k/1k usb is slave only. your computer will see the mpc (when connected via usb) as just an over priced mass storage device. the usb serves no other function on the 2500 or the 1000
