Play Start button/program changes

i think i may have seen a post for this before, but i searched and couldnt find anything....

i notice on the 2500, where you pick your program, it now has No. # along with OFF and whatever programs you have loaded, and of course the No. 0-127 being program changes.... using this to change sounds in a bank on the keyboard works fine, but i wouldnt mind being able to just change the sound on the keyboard itself and having it stay (like when i had the 1000), but anytime i hit the Play Start button it resets the patch on the keyboard back to wherever it started at, is there a way to turn this feature off? ive tried all the midi settings and turned local off on the keyboard but it does the same thing no matter what i try

yea i was lookin around too, checked out step edit to see if any changes would show in there, looked thru all the midi settings and changed em just to see if it would stop it but it doesnt

when in the Main window, goto Pgm and change it over to No. 1, highlight No. and hit the Window key, itll bring up the menu where you can change 'Transmit program changes in this track' to NO instead of yes, as well as turning on bank select with the corresponding MSB and LSB numbers if you do choose to look thru patches right from the MPC

I had no clue why this was happening or what the cause of the problem was. I appreciate.

I had the same prob. yup that fixes it

I hate to keep beating a dead horse here but let me make sure I got this straight. When you set Transmit program changes to "OFF" in lets say track 1a can you still change patches using the MPC? Because whenever I do this and have the FantomX6 program changes "ON" It overides anything the MPC has set and switches my sounds.

I have literally spent the last 3 WEEKS reading the manuals of the MPC and the FantomX6 and am becoming more and more frustrated. I do know how to read and comprehend, but this is by far the most confused I have ever been.

I tried to set up an appointment with SAM ASH to solve the problem but was told they were too busy until after the holidays.

I have had the same problem with my roland sh-32. I have changed all the suggested settings and when i play start it changes my program back to one. WTF i have given up it doesn't change any of my other gear just my sh-32.

well...... yes and no just depends on ur method

yes u can still change patches by changing 1a to 2a etc., then whatever patch u have in that spot on the keyboard will be whats played back

.....but no u cant scroll through all of ur keyboard patches if its turned to off

What ever!!!!!!!!!!!

remember u have to turn it to OFF on each track even if its the same pgm No.

I have wasted nearly an entire saturday re-wiring and re-reading and after about 125 searches here i have finally found this post.
i know "why didn;t you read ur manual..." well all the mpcs I have ever had (60, 2000, 200XL and 3000) I have never had to do this crap.
anyways all i can say is THANK YOU SO MUCH.
