Finally started to RE-RECORD and MIX the songs off my 2K and ALL the samples were short by like 2 seconds. WTF!!!!!!!!! I am HIGHLY PISSED.

i'm not sure i understand the issue here. could it be a mismatched BPM issue that is making your samples apear to short?

I wish I would have kept at least an MPC 2000/XL to test compatibility with the 2500.

Only thing you can do is to write down your findings and report it to Akai...in a tactful manner

Here is what I sent:

Good morning,

My name is ***** *******. I recently converted all my MPC 2000 song, sequence, and new program files to my MPC 2500 as mid. files. Everything worked fine EXCEPT that the samples I Ioaded from the new program files off the 2000 are now short. The samples are missing the last 2--3 seconds and my songs are ruined! I hope this is a OS issue. Can someone please check out and service this issue so when the new OS comes out hopefully it will be fixed because I took the time to convert over 200 songs.

Thank you,

***** *******

Now that is tactful :D

cre8tive,

When you load these MPC 2000 wav files into the 2500, are the sample start and end points (especially the end points) correct?

I ask because I remember loading up older Akai S format samples into my MPC 3000 and they wouldn't play back correctly. When I went into the sample edit menu, the sample start/end points were not set correctly. When I re-set these..everything played back ok.

I WENT INTO SAMPLE EDIT/TRIM AND THE LAST 2-3 SECONDS OFF MY SAMPLES ARE OFFICIALLY GONE. THE BRIGHT SIDE TO IT IS THAT I GOT TO LISTEN TO THE MESSED UP BEATS OVER MY NEW PAIR OF MACKIE HR824'S THAT I GOT FOR $760.00
