BUG 1.1?

Ok, i've also added this to the release thread, but as it bothers me a lot i've openend this thread.

allright, when i create a midi track from the main window: type: MIDI MIDI:1a.
record the track,play the track, then mute the track, it still sends the track to the midi device but plays them with a short decay. i tried some other midi settings but it still comes back, the 1.0b version did not have this problem, so i presume its a bug. OR im just playing stupid and doing something wrong. because when i solo the track it ain't leaking..

anyone have an idea? : ?

Ok, i took my DV cam and shot another piece.

I loaded an older piece i made with the 1.0b version and played it with the 1.10

Track one contains a drumsequence from within the mpc.

Track 2 and 3 are send to the virus.

you hear the leaking mutes when i mute the midi tracks(2&3)

*the strange this is if you solo a track from the main window, the whole thing works kinda properly..

Go to the 'Other Menu' and turn the 'Sustain Pedel to Duration' to NO.

Not sure if this will solve anyone problems..but with this on..it had notes from MIDI devices sustaining incorrectly..or not recording some notes altogether.

Maleh, do you have anuy other synths/sound modules that you can produce your problems with?

i have the same setup as before 1.10. i dont use any program sends and set all my machines to receive notes just like i did with all sequencers. as the MPC is the main sequencer, the virus and ks5 that are connected to the midi in's aren't sending anything special.

I tried the sustain pedal thing, but no luck.

it seems the mpc sends the sequence on very low velocity when mute is on any midi track.

the silly thing is, i found a workaround: pressing the solo button on the main screen. and i can mute it normally..(but with only 1 mpc channel ) it's just so damn strange.

try and set the track type to midi then change the pgm: to "no." select your program from the mpc with the numbers beside "no." then try to sequence your synth .....I have not got this problem when triggering my ms2000

Have you tried this with other synths or sound modules? So far..I have no luck reproducing your problem with any of my MIDI sound modules.

I don't think it is midi. It doesn't sound like the virus is making the sound, but I'm using laptop speakers. I'm just saying this because the sound that is coming through sounds to me like your drums. You turned on the mutes, did you check menus C,D,E? Was there anywhere else you recorded midi or audio? Did you make sure the other tracks have nothing?

I'm just throwing things out there.

I just spent the last hour or so and never got what you describe. I'm using the mpc exclusively with a Virus Indigo2. I couldn't reproduce this.

i had the same problem.
it happended with a sequence i programed on the old OS.
then i cleared the memory, made a new sequence and everything went well.
as i read your thread i tried it again with the old sequence but this time the
midi track (out to clavia nordlead) was muted correctly.
unfortunately i couldnt figure out the reason.

Ok guys, i solved it.. solved pretty easy...

"Reset factory settings"..

Damn, do i feel like an ass...




but still! mighty strange.. havn't changed anything in my setup, just updated the MPC...

I was able to figure out what's the deal with this bug: if you choose the option for sample playback until the end, the MPC actually mutes the MIDI events and you can have multiple tracks running different versions of one program without different events killing each other. If you activate the new "sudden stop" feature for samples, the MPC only mutes the audio output so that the MIDI events are in fact still playing. This is a bit unpractical, especially with mono-programs or mute groups.

Thnx Sonny Chiba!, i also figured that out last night..(at 3am or so, finally)

It's indeed unpracticle, and i wonder for what use it is?

anyhow, this thread is now good info for other ppl who face the same problem.
