i just copped a motifES and want to sample some sounds off it to the mpc. my question is when i hook everything up and get my rec in vol set to a decent level i get some audio looping (feedback). here's how i have it hooked up, maybe someone had this happen too...

motif output (L/R) to aw1600 in (ch. 1/2)
stereo/aux out from aw1600 to mpc rec in

i have all my volume settings to max from the motif and mpc but when i go to record i get the looping. something aint right.

any ideas?

This has happened to me too. If I understand you well enough, you have the MPC and Motif plugged into your mixer. You are then trying to sample from your Motif. Try this... turn the master volume on your MPC down all the way when recording from the Motif. Thats the way I do it to prevent the feedback loop. Let me know if it works.

Or u could do what I do and leave the volume of the mpc up and just turn the moniter output from L/R to OFF in the sample screen.

lamp, i have the mpc outs going to the aw and then the aw monitor out.

jacpot, i have everything hooked up to the aw so i can record other stuff from the mpc and motif to mix down separately. i guess i can hook up the motif directly to the record in on the mpc. but i dont wanna have to keep swappin the plugs. i'll try turning off the monitor output in the sample screen and see if thats better.

taxman, thats eactly how i have it now setupwize and how im working around the feedback. seems kinda funny to me tho cuz sometimes i forget to turn it down after i lay down some beats wid the mpc and the feedback is loud as $*@^.

thanks fellas, i'll holla tomorrow...
