8 outputs question

Ok, i know this is seriously gonna be a retarted question for almost everyone here, but what is the point of having 8 out in the back of your MPC. I understand that you are able to send each pad to each assighned out, but is the main purpose of the outs just to be able to send the outs to a rack mount effects module? if so, what other purpose do they serve?

When u want to track out your beats for mixdown, thats what i use them for

it is for separating the sounds and either sending them through effects or just to a mixer where you can easily monitor the levels and EQ.

The mixdown is the final mix where you balance out the isolated tracks and mix them down into one track.

And this mixdown is usually done in some sort of DAW or hardware device like a multitrack. If u like me then u use a multitrack. DAWs are better though in my opinion if you want that really clean sound

so, why would you actually want these to be tracked to an external equilizer when you could just adjust the volumes with the internal MPC mixer? Maybe the effects i could understand, but im not really following the final equalization...

well compression sucks monkey balls on the mpc so when u wanna compress individule sounds its better to go through the mpc to an external source such as cubase or even an external mixer ...trust me man your final mix through the balanced outs will sound alot better when u eq and do your final mix instead of just mixing it all in the mpc...but hey thats just one opinion!

The 8 outs are there for an obvious reason.....

I have all 10 outs of the MPC connected to a mixer. My mixer has better effects, EQ, and other dynamics than what the MPC has internally. I have the option of using the mixer for mixing tracks or I can route my MPC material straight to my PC for multi-tracking and mixing...

ohh, ok i think im getting you guys now. ok, so why only have 8 outs, why not have 16, one for each individual pad, that way you can assighn each out to each pad. Or, are you capable of assigning more than 1 pad per 1 out. Also, in order to apply all the effects from a computer prog (like cubase that was mentioned) what kinda of soundcard or module are you guys interface with your comp that accepts (8) 1/4 inputs?

exactly. you can assign multiple pads to a single out.

that depends on your budget, taste and what you want to get out of it. price range varies. you would also need a midi interface to keep the timing when you're tracking out. so try to get an interface that has both.
